MEXICAN OAXACA COFFEE

MEXICAN OAXACA COFFEE

MEXICAN OAXACA COFFEE

When you move off the coast, near Acapulco and travel to the south, your scenery will quickly change to high lush mountains in the Oaxaca State of Mexico.  The elevation and climate, are idea for growing quality coffee and our coffee from the La Cañada region is a coffee that “showcases” small growers, working together to form a cooperative and provide for their families.  The coffee will draw you in with the first burst of aroma, sweet fruit will captivate your senses, along with a layer of baker’s cocoa chocolate.  The coffee is grown and certified organic, so obviously the use of pesticides have not been used and the environment is being protected.  This coffee makes a wonderful single origin but also, when blended, creates an amazing base for a quality espresso.

Region: La Cañada

Elevation: 1500 meters

Arabica Varietals: Bourbon, Mundo Novo, Typica

Harvest: January-March

Processing: Washed then sun dried

Classifications: SHG and Organic

Producers: Cooperative

Cupping Notes: Sweet fruit, such as peaches, milk chocolate, and bakers cocoa, slight peanut note.  Body is medium, with well-rounded acidity, finishes clean.

Additional Notes: A portion of the profits from sales of this coffee in green form, are given back to Growers First who works with impoverished farmers, giving them hope and providing them with the needed resources to transform communities.  For more information on Growers First, please visit their website at www.growersfirst.org
